Don't forget the FUN-raiser!

Another reminder, our last fundraising event will be Sunday, November 4th at 1pm at AMF Sky Lanes on OBT. For just $10 you get two hours of all-you-can-bowl with shoes included! A great deal for a great cause!

Bake Sale!

We held a bake sale at the 7-11 (owned by Deepti's parents) on Jetport Drive near the 528 Expressway. We had plenty of delicious cupcakes, cookies and rice krispy treats to go around!
Don't those look good?

Workin' at the Car Wash, Yeah!

Sunday morning bright and early the JA Knights met up to hold a fundraising car wash. Although our original location fell through, we tried a few other business and thankfully met Ms. Martinez, the General Manager at Arby's (2420 West Oak Ridge Road). She was excited to have us and offered access for our water hoses, ice, a stack of coupons to offer to donors, and good student coupons to give to our JA teachers. Thanks to Arby's for being such a team player in the community!

For buying a  car wash or giving a donation, they recieved ice cold water and a sheet of Arby's coupons.

Meet the team!

Welcome!

We created this blog to give you some insight into our experiences and share our progress towards our goal.

First of all, let us introduce ourselves. JA Knights is comprised of six UCF Cornerstone students;
Keyanna Fountain, Hector Perez, Deepti Kumar, Sonja Bohmer, Laquita Ford, and Eric Luna.

We are the JA Knights and as a team we are working with Junior Achievement of Central Florida in conjunction with Palmetto Elementary School of Orange County this Fall. Our goal as JA Knights is to work as a team to show appreciation to the 120 instructors at Palmetto Elementary School which can often be overlooked. By showing our appreciation, this will be a way for us to give back to our community because the instructors play a massive role in the development of our next generation. Through communication, knowledge and planning as a team we are going to work hard to raise over $1,000 to support the staff of Palmetto, by providing them with a lasting and unforgettable event!
